Joyce, a blogger of "From This Side of The Pond" has created Wednesday Hodgepodge! This is the first edition: 7 questions to answer with the opportunity to add your own random item. I ♥ this idea! Everyone is welcome to join in the fun.
1. Are you more like your mom or your dad?
I'm quite stubborn...so in this regard I'm probably more like my dad. I come from a family of grudge holders -- luckily it gets less intense with each generation and someday if I have grandkids, they'll have a chance of turning out completely normal.
2. Do you like roller coasters?
LOVE THEM! The bigger the better. Twist me, twirl me, hurl me upside down and I'll scream for more! I love the ones with lots of loops like The Hulk at Universal and also ones where your feet dangle. What I hate are those rides that just DROP you like Tower of Terror at Disney. Can't stand the feeling of falling like that! Go figure!
3. How did you name your blog and do you now wish you had thought about it maybe another five minutes before hitting publish? Would you change your blog title if it were not a huge pain in the derriere? (French makes everything sound a little nicer doesn't it?)
Hmmm, when I decided to blog I knew that I wanted to share my opinion on things so I do like my blog's name -- The Way I See Things. It seems to fit me quite well (at least for now!)
4. What is the best wedding gift you received? Not married? Didn't get any gifts? Then what is the best wedding gift you've ever given?
I've been married for 17+ years so it's hard to remember but we mostly got cash gifts. One gift I do remember was from a co-worker of mine. It was a huge Chantal cooking pot and a beautiful Italian cookbook. I loved both and still use the pot regularly!
5. What bill do you least like to pay?
Luxury taxes. Most people can't believe that I have to pay taxes for my car twice a year but it's true. In the state of Connecticut, ALL motor vehicles are taxed based on the value of the car. So annoying!
6. Is the glass half full or half empty?
these days my glass is quite full!
7. What is your favorite word? Okay okay, calm down. How about one of your favorite words?
I probably use the word AWESOME a bit too much! Oh well -- its MY word!
8.. Insert your own random thought here-
Today my youngest child turned thirteen. So hard to believe. I was in a little funk, feeling a little "old" so my dear friend scooped me up and we headed to the Mall. On the way there, she kept telling me how I'm still really young and need to remember that. Definitely lifted my spirits! As soon as we got into the mall, we were asked to participate in a quick study for $10. Lunch money -- why not, right? We entered the survey room and when asked my age, I honestly responded 43. The woman said "Oh good, we need people for our OLDER group." Ugh! What a buzz kill!
It's been a while since I've done the blog hop and today seemed like a great day to join in again! Make sure you visit some of these great blogs this week -- you will find some real treasures out there! -- Dawn
It's FLASHBACK FRIDAY!!! A huge thanks to Christopher and Tiafor starting this fun meme! Make sure you visit and link up!
Here's how Flashback Friday works: Grab an old photo, write a little bit about it, and link up! We love love love to invade your personal polaroid history, so don't be shy, and expect a lot of comments starting with "awwwwww". Unless its a sad post, and then... well those might start with "awww" too.
and now without further interruption . . .
My Flashback Friday photos take us back to 1996 -- this year Brett (my first born) came into the world. It's hard to imagine that was 14 years ago -- he came into the world smiling and has never stopped. I was reminded of these photos today because yesterday this little boy graduated from middle school and is now a High School Student. While he is certainly becoming a fine young man, he will always be my little boy and the reason I proudly got the title "MOM."
(his newborn photo -- smiling already!)
(Brett loved rocking horses!)
(he grabbed the TV remote at a few months old and hasn't relinquished it YET!)
AND NOW, NOT A FLASHBACK PHOTO BUT . . . HERE WE ARE AT HIS GRADUATION YESTERDAY!
