Being "back home" can be a little strange after a long vacation. You get a little spoiled by eating all sorts of interesting foods but, honestly, these are foods that you don't typically eat at home. That was definitely true for me. When I woke up this morning I was craving asian food -- it is definitely one of my favorites and something I normally eat every week but didn't eat at all while on vacation.
So I recruited my dad (an excellent lunch buddy) and we headed off to my favorite lunch bistro -- Tengda (pronounced Ten - ga) . We had duck spring rolls, edamame, miso soup, ginger salad, pot stickers, and chicken teriyaki. It was divine!
Later that day I went to the American Red Cross to donate my blood since there is a "blood emergency" here in Connecticut. DENIED! Apparently my iron levels are too low and I was turned away with only bandaged fingers to show for my effort. Perhaps next time I'll eat a big steak before I go!
